Best Friend - my gift

Hello my dears,  I've been missing in action for a few days, I was called into the studio at short notice for a couple of sessions to lay down some backing tracks.  I've still been able to browse and chat etc but not create very much until today.  I've been burning the midnight oil to make sure my DT work is up to date.  Today sees me in my craft room without interruption's so I managed to create my first corner bookmark.

I've wanted to make one of these for my BFF for ages, she is an avid reader and oohs and aahh's when I show her my newest Tilda's.  So what better gift that this bookmark with sweet mini Tilda on board.

I used K&Co  along with Cosmo Cricket papers, a little bit of lace, some pearls and a journal sentiment from Cosmo Cricket.  The sentiment on the back is from Simon Says Stamps from the MME friends sentiment pack.  The little tassel is from LLB collection.

I'm sure my friend will appreciate it.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges.

Magnolia-Licious Challenge: Have an amazing pictorial theme for you to follow, click on the link to take you over there and see the picture.

Simply Magnolia Challenge: Would like to see Anything this week.

Totall Tilda Challenge: Would like to see anything but a card this time.

Magnolia Mania Challenge: Have a distressing theme this week.  My bookmark has been distressed on all edges with Tim Holtz Wild Honey distress inks.

Oldie But Goodie Challenge: Would like to see Anything this week.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far.  I'll see you all in a day or so when I make my debut as one of the newest DT members of The Emerald Faeries Garden. Woohoo !!

Wedded Bliss

A very good morning to everyone,  I am so fed up with this weather, we've had two days of sunshine over the last 3 weeks and guess what, it's pouring yet again with rain and the sky is a shade just under black.  Arrrgggh!!  I don't think we're getting a summer this year.!!!

Anyway I wanted to show you something a little different from me. It's not Magnolia, it's a sweet image from hAnglar sTangler. My card shape is from my newest acquisition die from Go Kreate, I love it because it gives you a 3" card right up to a 6" one.

Anyway after cutting out three layers I distressed them with Tim Holtz antique linen, then tea dye and finally brushed corduroy.
For the ornate frame around the image I added a little broken china in places. I'm quite please with the antique/vintage look.

I added some vintage hessian lace and velvet pearl trim. The little metal corner and Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, torn and distressed papers are from K&Co. The little stamp sentiment and die are from Whimsy Stamps, the journaling sentiment is from papermania.

Oh! and before I forget I did something that I never do, I tore my paper!!!! believe me you don't want to know how much I apologised to it before commencing. lol.

That's all from me this morning, but I will be back a little later with another project I'm finishing off.

I hope you all have a wonderful day ahead of you.

Hand Made Flower & Pin for Tilda

Good Evening my dears,  Well the Grandchildren have gone home!!!  they must have had jelly babies or something with additives at school today because they were super hyper!!  The twins were just full of mischief today and the 14yr old has hormonal problems, he is "in love" and doesn't quite know how to handle it!! I think i've given him some sound advice,  aren't Grandmothers wonderful people lol.

Anyway I started this card yesterday when I came across these lovely challenge blogs for the first time, so I thought I would create something for them and for the regular challenge blogs that I love to enter.

I've used sweet Tilda in Rubber Boots from the Butterfly & Dreams collection, isn't she a doll.  My papers are basic grey but I cannot remember which pad they came from.  My full recipe is below this post.

I do have to tell you that I made the flower myself, I incorporated white netting fabric and interface fabric, used my Marianne D's dies and my doohickey lace doily flower die, there are 11 layers and I then distressed them all with TH tattered rose inks. popped on a jewelled brad from Do craft and there you have it, a very pretty flower with nice texture.  I also made the little hatpin from various beads I have in my stash.

Who's a Tomboy!! Fathers Day

Hello again my dears, Well the sun disappeared about an hour ago and we now have a dark grey sky.  So I came back indoors and decided to create a simple Fathers Day Card.  I wanted to stay away from the norm so I'm using one of the new images created by Roberta over at Prairie Fairy Designs.  She is called Gillian (Summer Swinging)   and is available NOW, isn't she adorable.  I coloured her with Pro markers and water colour pencils.

I've kept the card very simple as it's male orientated.  papers are from K&Co, I found the add on corners in amongst some baby stickers and the sentiment mount is hand made and words from the computer.

There are lots of challenges this week asking for either Male/Masculine/Fathers day cards, I've chosen a few and they are:

Pretty in Pink & Brown.

Good Morning to you all,  I can't believe it, Yippee!!! the sun is shining, mind you the weather man has said there is heavy rain on its way in the afternoon.  So I'm off out into the garden before that big bright item in the sky disappears. lol.

I wanted to show you the card I made at 4.30am this morning (couldn't sleep) so I thought I would rise and do something constructive instead of tossing and turning.

I've used Tilda with Hawaiian flower as my image,  coloured her with pro markers (skin) and aqua markers (clothes) I've had these markers for ages and I'm still a little wary of them. But I'll persevere until I get it right. lol.

I followed the lovely sketch over at Just Magnolia hAnglar sTanger which Jacque created, chose the colour scheme from Passion for Promarkers.

I hope you all having a wonderful relaxing Sunday and in the meantime the Sun is calling my name.

Challenges Entered:

Just Magnolia:  This week it's a sketch and lots of Flowers
Passion for Promarkers:  Have the option of Pink/Brown or Blue/Brown colour combo.
