A 1st for me - Bella Bunting

Good Afternoon to you all,  It's a bright sunny day here today and although it's bright it's not thawing out the snow at all because it's still minus.  Oh well another day indoors.  Never mind!!!

I was so lucky to have won this wonderful little Bella Bunting from the Sugar Nellie Blog when they were promoting the new range of Simply Sassy stamps. Now my title for my post says A 1st for me,  this is the first time I've ever used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour in an image.  I know I have a long way to go but oh I did enjoy it.  I now need to practice and get the tones and shading a lot better.

The full recipe for my card is below this post.

I am entering this little cutie into the following challenges:

1. The Sugar Bowl Challenge:  Have a wonderful sketch from Marlene with the option of Black and white + 1 other colour. I chose to go with red.

2. Charisma Cardz Challenge: Have the theme of One for the Girls this week.

3. Paper Sundaes Challenge:  Would like you to adorn the corners. I've put little ruby gems on the corners of my image.

5. Stamp Insanity Challenge: Would like us to try something new. My first time colouring with distress inks.

6. Lets Ink It Up Challenge:  Would love to see some recycling and of course no digi images, use your rubber stamps.

Well that's all for me just now, I'll be back a little later to go visiting and do some catching up with friends.  I've been rather neglectful just recently.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.  Suzi xox

It's Saturday, and hey!! I'm not working tonight, Yippee!!  I am off later this morning to a craft demo on Aqua Pro marker pens, I'm really looking forward to it.  I love my Pro markers and I also love my water colour pencils, so maybe this will give me a chance to use both at the same time.

Anyway  - It's time for another wonderful theme over at
One Stop Craft Challenge and this week it was our lovely Lorraine who chose it.  She would like to see all your

Christmas Cuties.

I've chosen to go with Tilda opening her present.  I think she is a little cutie anyway but this is one of my favourite images of her.  I've coloured her with Pro markers and staedler water colour pencils and mounted her onto blue metallic embossed card.

I've used the same card for my panels and my CB script embossing folder on the white card, added a few tiny blue buttons and some poinsetta with a Marianne D's die cut. The papers are from last years stock by papermania.  I haven't added a sentiment because I'm going to personalise it for a very special little girl.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll pop back in to see you all when I return from the Demo.

Shopping in Style !!!

Good Evening Everyone,  I hope you have all had a wonderful day.  I've been out Christmas Shopping most of the day and I wish I had looked as elegant and cool as sweet Willow here.  It was a nightmare, MANIC!! I think is the word I'm looking for.  Don't know about you but I'm sure this time of the year bring out the worst in some people.  I've been pushed, my feet trod on and to top it off at one stage I was Queue Jumped. Argg............

The only consolation is that I don't often venture in Glasgow to shop but at least that's it over for another year. All my Christmas shopping apart from the food is over.

I'm now back in the safety of my Craft Room!!  I've managed to create this card for a few challenges.  This is a Whiff of Joy stamp that is being used by me for the first time.  I know (shame on me!!) I've had it for over a year but then who amongst us hasn't got stamps that haven't seen the light of day since the bought them. I rest my case. Lol!!!

She is a little beauty though, I've coloured her with Pro Markers and paper pieced her shopping bags. The full recipe for my card is below this post.  I followed the wonderful sketch from Tara who sadly is leaving the Design Team at Whiff of Joy so they are having a DT call.  Well a girl can dream can't she!!! but as my old Mum used to say If you're not in it you can't win it.

I am also entering sweet Willow into a few more challenges

1. Whiff of Joy Challenge:  I followed the fab sketch designed by Tara this week.  Do pop over and take a peek at the wonderful creations the DT have come up with this week, you won't be disappointed and they are having a DT call too.

2. Simon Stamp and Show Challenge: This week the girls & Dan would like to see you use your distress inks.  I used basic white card for my TH die cuts and distressed them with Tea Dye & Tattered Rose. I love the effect these inks give to plain paper.

3. Fab n Funky Challenge: Have a theme of Going with the Flow which translates to Create anything you like.

4. PaperTake Weekly Challenge: Have a theme of Cut it Out which means show the team your die cuts, nesties etc.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening and if you've popped in to visit me please leave a few words to let me know you were here.

A Pink Christmas with Sweet Tilda + Challenges

Good Morning Dears,  Well thank goodness it's Monday!!  what a busy weekend I've had.  I was working Fri Sat & Sun so my weekend begins today and I intend to have a very lazy day.  No housework or cooking for me.  I'm spending the day in my craft room with the door firmly closed!!!

I've been working on this card over the weekend when I've had a few spare minutes and finally finished it this morning.  There are lots of challenges that helped me in it's creation which I will list below.

I've used Tilda from last years collection and coloured her with Promarkers and sprinkled a little glamour dust around her. The papers are from papermania 6x6 Festive Frolics and they are adorable. The large flower is one of the new mulberry hellebores from Wild Orchid Crafts and they are utterly gorgeous.

The full recipe for my card is at the bottom of this post.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I may be back a little later with another card or two/three/four lol, depending on how or if my creative juices are quick or slow.

I'll say Bye for now.  Suzi xox

Caroling & Snow

Good Morning Friends

I made this wee card for the new venture over at
Magnolia-licious Challenge, where the brief this week was
to create something in Pink & Yellow.  I must say not a colour scheme I've tried before, But that's what challenges are all about, sometimes they take us out of our comfort zone and encourage us to try different colour schemes.  I quite like it and I think it will make one of my nieces very happy as she loves Tilda in any colour.

I've used Carol singing Tilda and coloured her with Pro Markers and staedler water colour pencils, glittered her wings and the fur trims with Glamour dust. I used snowtex for the snow under her little boots.  The Papers are papermania basics, with DCWV textured card for mounting and die cuts. I also used my sewing machine (which I don't use often enough) on the outside of the card. The full recipe is below this post.

I hope you all have a lovely Sunday and I'll see you a little later with another card that I'm just finishing off.

My card qualifies for the following Challenges:

Magnolia-licious Challenge:  The theme for this first challenge is a colour combo of PINK & YELLOW

Totally Papercrafts Challenge: Would like to see SNOW & SNOWFLAKES this week.

CES Challenge: Have a LOVELY LACE theme this week.

Creative Inspirations #47 Christmassy/Winter - DT card

Good Morning Dears, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. It's time for another challenge over at Creative Inspirations and the lovely Jude has chosen the theme of Anything Christmassy/Winter

We have two lovely Sponsors this week

First is the lovely Debbie from The Crafty Pad Stamps Design
Debbie has some wonderful digital and polymer stamps in store and has kindly given us a lovely new Christmas Stamp for the Prize today. I've used one of Debbie's digital images for my card - Little Christmas Ted with shooting stars.

I took him into one of my programs on the computer and cloned him, reversed him so that they were looking at each other, coloured them with pro markers and used my black glitter pen on the stars. I think they are cute as buttons.  The ribbon snowflake was made by cutting 4 strips of ribbon and sewn together with a glittered button added.

Are 2nd sponsor this week is the lovely Soft Pencil Digital Stamps

Digital stamps.

Elizabeth is offering the winner a $10 voucher to spend in her digital shop.

Do Pop over to Creative Inspirations and check out the gorgeous work my friends on the DT have created for you this week. You will find a selection of Debbie's and Elizabeth's images being used on some of their creations.

One Stop Craft Challenge #106 Pop-Up DT card

Good Morning my Dears,  It's Saturday am and it's time for another challenge over at One Stop Craft.  This week it was the love Janet who chose the theme and it took us all out of our comfort zone a little.  She wanted us all to make a Pop Up Creation.   Now never having done this before I had to go searching for a tutorial and thank goodness I found one on You Tube where you can find almost anything you haven't attempted before.  In the end it was quite simple and the card fits into a standard envelope too.

I followed the instructions and this is what I've come up with, quite a simple card, but in hind sight I wish I had decorated it a little more. But on the whole it's not too bad.

I used a decoupage sheet of Poinsettia's that I've had in my stash since last Christmas, it's a set from Paper mania. I added green and gold ribbon that I've had for yonks and made the sentiment from my computer.  "Simples" as that amazing advert would say.

Our Sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Shop who have an amazing array of digital images to suit all tastes. Pop over and have a wee visit with them, you won't be disappointed. Just click on the link and hey presto - you're there. They are giving one lucky winner a $10.00 voucher to spend in store.

Don't forget to go visit the wonderful DT who have worked so hard this week to bring you a variety of fantastic creations.

Thank you for popping in to visit, I hope you enjoyed your stay and that you come back to visit real soon.

Suzi xox

Looking forward to visiting all your wonderful creation over the next week.

Lilli of the Valley Cutie + various challenges

Hello my friends,  I will try and keep this story as short as possible.  As some of you know I have 3 Grandsons and they come to me every Thursday after school for Dinner and some play/create time with Gran and Grandad.  Yesterday was no exception. Callum our 13yr old always get 1hr of time with his Grandad to play the PS3, so the twins (Aaron & Ross) move into my craft room to do a little creating.  They saw the card I had half finished and decided that I needed to make a Christmas card for their "Girlfriends" remember they are only 6yrs of age.!!!  or as Aaron says 6 + 10 months. lol.

We got out all my new stamps and they chose this Lili of the Valley one, then we proceeded to go through Gran's papers. Aaron chose the Pink shades, (he just loves princess's and glitter, Cheryl Cole etc etc) Ross is more into Fireman Sam and blues.

Anyway to cut a long story relatively short, they chose the image, papers, snowflakes and colour scheme's then told me that I could do it all tomorrow ready for them when they visit on Sunday, and promptly went back to play with their toys.

So this is what I've been doing today, creating two very similar cards for the Twins "girlfriends" they had to be very similar or I would have a war on my hands.lol.

Anyway this is the outcome, I'm sure they will love them and so will their "Girlfriends". Oh and I forgot to tell you this is no casual affair!! oh no!! they go to youth club Mon, film club Friday and Karate Tues as a foursome. I think my dear Daughter has a lot of work ahead of her.

Any way back to my card.  I looked around for inspiration and visited Lili of the Valley Blog for some tips, thank you girls you made my life a lot easier. The full recipe for my card and the challenges entered are just below.

Thank you for listening to my ramblings, I can't help it, the boys just tickle me silly with their little grown up attitudes when they visit.

See you all tomorrow with my DT card for One Stop Craft.

Bye for now.  Suzi xox

Sneaky Tilda + Challenges

Good Morning my Dears, I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far.  I made this card for a few challenges and used some of my new stash that I bought at the SECC craft show in Glasgow.

I won the lovely sneaky Tilda from Stamping Scrapping when I was given a choice of stamps after winning the Magnolia Stamp Lovers Halloween challenge.  Isn't she the cutest little madam. I've coloured her with ProMarkers and mounted her onto an oval nestie. I paper pieced the little gift behind her back and glittered the bow.

I cut out two of my new Tim Holtz on the edge die (scrollwork) and distressed it with his broken china distress ink. The little pale blue Christmas ribbon from Anit'a covers the join really well.

I had some A4 sheets of foam which I got from poundland, I've used the silver one to cut out my snowflakes and the little diamond shapes are the inserts that fall out from the snowflake when you remove it from the die.  I've used stickles all around the edge of the card, the brad snowflakes have had zig glue applied to them and then glittered with white. The flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

My top tip for Top Tip Tuesday. is to look at the shapes you're cutting from your dies and check that the inserts can't be used somewhere on your card.

I haven't used a sentiment on the outside of the card because the ribbon has Merry Christmas scrolled accross it.  I will add my sentiment to the inside when I decide who is receiving it.

Thank you so much for visiting I hope you like my Sneaky Tilda and do come back and visit soon.
