Vintage handbag Card

Hi Friends, Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I'm off out to work within the next hour so this will be my one and only post for today. This week has been really traumatic for me, I thought the week previous was bad but this one just gone takes the biscuit. I won't go into boring details but it involved a lot of worry. Anyway I'm glad I can still catch an hour or so of crafting and this little handbag is the result of my snatched hour. I bought the template a couple of weeks ago and I thought this style would suit my very sophisticated 15yr old Niece. I've used ivory for the skin tones, I don't think anyone had much colour back then.

It is for 3 challenges this week over at
1. Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge: The colour scheme this week is Orange, Blue & Purple, the theme is Back to the 80's with a twist and the song I chose was Girls on Film.
2. Our Creative Corner Challenge: The them this week is Vintage, so I thought my little stamp of the Roaring 30's and the shape of the bag is quite vintage.
3. Charisma Cardz Challenge: This week is no Backing paper. I have used Card stock for the handle and the shaped front, but no paper anywhere on my card.

I hope you all have a lovely evening and I'll see you all Tomorrow.

2010 Calendar

Happy Sunday everyone. I think I've outdone myself with my recycling this week. I was looking for things to alter and came up with the idea of using the polystyrene base of a frozen 10" pizza, which my hubby and I shared for supper. When you remove the pizza there isn't a mark on the base and it's ideal for the purpose of redecorating. I decided to make a calendar for my GDT spot over at the Crafty Pad challenge this week which is a recipe of 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 3 brads and swirls. I've used one of Debbie's lovely Faith stamps as my image. Do pop over and join us, there is also a free Digital image to enter into the GDT spot. I am also entering my creation into 3 other challenges that my project fall into.
1. Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge: The theme this week is Autumn.
2. Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge: So lovely to see this Fab challenge back with us. This week is a Colour theme of Orange, Brown and leafy Green.
3. Stamp Something Challenge: The theme this week is Brown & Something, you can use other colours but your project has to have lots of brown in it.

Thank you so much for coming to visit, I hope you have enjoyed browsing and please do pop back and see me again soon.

First Ever Halloween Card

OH BOY!! This was a real challenge for me, firstly we don't celebrate Halloween a great deal in the UK as much as our friends across the water do. But hey ho I'm up for the challenge.

Now my next problem, I had No Halloween goodies in my stash except the lovely free digital download from Doodle Palace, and I must admit he is cute. So here is what I've come up with. I found some black and grey paper and proceeded to colour some of the circles with acrylic art paint of purple, orange and green. I printed off a couple of sentiments and used my Pastel chalk sticks to colour them. Cut out some little pieces of black paper for the bats and added black ribbon to give it some definition.
The inside of the card was done using a plastic bag, dipped onto my black, purple and orange ink pads and dabbed onto the card to give it a spooky look. I just drew the little bats this time and added a couple of nesties and black ribbon. The Happy Halloween is from my big squeeze.

I'm giving this card to my Grandson's and I do hope they like it. Here are the challenges.

1. Die Cut Dreams Challenge: Vikki came up with the sketch and the theme this week which is Halloween and a colour scheme of Black, Purple, Orange & Green. There are two prizes up for grabs this week, one from Susie and one from Vikki. You will have to pop over to find out what they are. You won't be disappointed. The DT cards are fab.
2. Simon Says Challenge: This week the theme is Boo!! make a Halloween card or project. Again pop along to see some fantastic examples from the DT.
3. The Pink Elephant Challenge: The theme this week is a colour challenge of Black, orange, purple and white, again Halloween colours and the prize this week is from Betty the Scrap Witch.
4. A Spoon full of Sugar: The challenge this week is to create a Halloween card or project. Once again the prize is just adorable, but you will have to visit to find out what it is.

Well that's all from me just now, it's 2.15 am and I think it's time I popped off to bed. See you all in the morning. Thanks for visiting.
